East Palo Alto sits next to some of the most valuable technology companies in the world. Proximity alone has never been enough. A student needs a place to build something, a team that expects them back, and an adult who assumes they belong in the room.
That is what robotics provides. The Churrobots, FRC team #8048, are East Palo Alto's competition robotics team, and they are part of the Hope Horizon family. The team grew from 21 students to 36 in a single year, which is less a story about robots than about what happens when local kids are given a real thing to do.
Robotics teaches more than robots
