Is Hope Horizon right for your child?
Homework help that actually helps. A spot on a robotics team. A summer worth remembering. An adult who knows your child by name. If you live in East Palo Alto or Belle Haven and your child is in TK through 12th grade, there is a place for them here, and most of it is free or low cost.

We serve students from TK through 12th grade who live in or go to school around East Palo Alto and Belle Haven. You do not need to be religious to join. You do not need perfect grades. You need a kid who could use a steady, caring place after the school bell rings.

Our afterschool academic and robotics programs are free or low cost. Summer camp is $250 for all six weeks. We never want money to be the reason a child can't come, so scholarships are available for every program, based on household income.

Good things parents ask.
Do we have to be Christian to join?
No. Hope Horizon is a Christian organization and that shows up in our care and our optional mentorship, but our tutoring, robotics, and camp are open to every family. Faith is offered, never required.
What if we can't afford it?
Then we find a way. Scholarships are available for every program based on household income. No family is turned away for cost.
What grades do you serve?
TK through 12th grade, plus college scholarships and mentorship for our graduates.
Is my child safe there?
Yes. Our staff are background-checked, and we have been a trusted, stable presence in East Palo Alto for 40 years. See our child safety commitments.
What are the hours?
The Academic Year Program runs Monday to Thursday, 2:30 to 6:30 PM, from September to May. Summer camp runs 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday to Friday.
How many days a week?
Up to four afterschool days during the school year. We work with your family's schedule and your child's needs.
Do you offer help in Spanish?
Yes. Many of our staff and volunteers speak Spanish, and we are glad to walk you through enrollment in Spanish.
