2025 Impact Report
A year of refuge, growth, and momentum.
With a local school closing and resources thinning, more East Palo Alto families leaned on Hope Horizon than ever. Here is what your partnership made possible in 2025.
A letter from our director
Dear friends and family,
For more than four decades, Hope Horizon East Palo Alto has stood as a place of refuge and growth for young people east of Bayshore. With your partnership, we have walked alongside students as they discover their gifts, strengthen their faith, and grow into leaders who give back.
This year brought both opportunity and unexpected change. With a local school closing, families are feeling the strain of fewer resources and fewer safe places for their children. More than ever, parents tell us how deeply they rely on Hope Horizon as a steady refuge, where students are cared for and challenged to grow in faith, academics, and leadership.
As we look toward 2026, we carry both urgency and hope. Urgency, because the needs of our community are greater than ever. Hope, because we see faithfulness at work in every student who discovers their gifts, their voice, and their future here. Thank you for standing with us.
What 2025 looked like
Milestones that remind us why this work matters.
A stronger summer
Our strongest summer program yet, blending academics, leadership, and spiritual formation. 80% of students improved in reading during the school year.A new winter tradition
We hosted our first Hope Horizon Winter Camp, giving students space to encounter God, form lasting friendships, and return home renewed.Robotics, reimagined
Our high school robotics team, the Churrobots, grew nearly 70%, from 21 students to 36. Our elementary and middle school robotics pathway runs alongside it, so more of our students can build toward the team.A high school mission
Our high schoolers stepped out on a mission trip, practicing leadership and service while catching a vision for their role in something bigger. What anchors us
Two commitments behind every program.
Village Vision
It takes all of us, together, to surround young people with care and opportunity. Students thrive when a whole community shows up for them.
Built to Last
We build programs and leadership designed to serve East Palo Alto for generations, not just for a season.

Class of 2025
Where this year's scholars are headed.
Open Door scholarships and the mentors behind them are sending East Palo Alto students to college, and many come back to lead.
Carry the momentum into 2026.
The needs are greater than ever, and so is the opportunity. Your gift keeps a student in tutoring, on a robotics team, and on a path to college.
